
Early Childhood Learning center and Day Care facility
Job Description & Roles
Direct activities of preschool, day care centre, or other child development facility to provide instruction and care for children
Work closely with the directors to develop, grow and expand the school
Review the requirements of instructional materials and teaching aids, such as books, toys, and games designed to stimulate learning. Plan, direct, and monitor instructional methods and content for educational, vocational, or student activity programs
Interview and recommend hiring of teaching and service staff to the directors
Confer with teaching staff regarding child’s behavioural or learning problems, and recommend methods of modifying inappropriate behaviour and encouraging learning experiences.
Review and approve menu plans and food purchases
May perform classroom teaching duties during absence of regular teacher and counsel and provide guidance to students
Establish, review and approve new programs or recommend modifications to existing programs
Coordinate outreach activities with businesses, communities, and other institutions or organizations to identify educational needs, and establish and coordinate programs
Confer with parents and staff to discuss educational activities, policies, and student behavioural or learning problems
Minimun Qualificati0ns
Minimum Degree in Early Childhood Education with Diploma in Leadership
At least 5 years of supervisory experience
Skills & Competencies
A flair for teaching and must be able to interact well with students
Good leadership qualities with strong administrative, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
Effectively bilingual due to the need to communicate with parents and the community
