Community Program Facilitator at KIYITA FAMILY ALLIANCE FOR DEVELOPMENT (KIFAD)
Key responsibilities: Under direct supervision of the Director, the Community Program Facilitator develops and coordinates all community HIV Prevention Program activities at KiFAD, including oversight education and training, testing, compilation, reporting and budget monitoring, contracts and grants; plans, direct and supervise the work of any student interns, volunteers or temporary workers engaged in HIV educational and/or training and testing activities; and performs other related work as required. Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Coordinate HIV/AIDS education and training program activities with the district health office and other stakeholders/agencies • Identify and maintain community resources useful in implementing program activities • Supervise the implementation of program activities and provide technical guidance to staff, district health teams, other stakeholders/agencies and service providers as necessary to assure compliance with HIV/AIDS program policy and procedures • Supervise and evaluate work of assigned staff and provide/coordinate training of same • Establish service provider networks and make presentations before community groups to promote the HIV/Aids health promotion program • Researches HIV/AIDS information and prepares copy for bulletins, periodic reports, and educational/training materials • Research and build the capacity of staff, district health teams on new/current policies, procedures in HIV/AIDS prevention and management • Develop and/or review curriculum and educational material • Prepare news releases and special features on HIV/AIDS topics • Plan and/or participate in workshops, institutes, forums, and discussion groups to promote HIV/AIDS education • Coordinate with GoU/MoH officials regarding HIV/AIDS program requirements and provide feedback • Perform various technical tasks related to the HIV/AIDS program such as conducting educational presentations, conducting statistical surveys, developing specific health education plans, proposals, reports and correspondences • Monitor and evaluate grant programs, and organizes community groups to participate in grant activities
