I wish to pursue a career in procurement and Logistics Management and believe that the position at Job Connect will prove both a challenge and an opportunity to develop. Experience:
My work experience placement at Kamwenge District Local Government as a supervisor, and now at Uganda Investment Authority has given me an understanding of stock control as well as customer attitudes has perfection my decision making skills as well as working to achieve customer satisfaction. Part-time work at Mercy Corps also gave me experience of customer service, working on petty cash transactions, attaching receipts on their respective vouchers, and posting entries in the accounting system all of which often times done under pressure hence strengthen my multitask capability.
Knowledge/Qualifications:
I hold a bachelor’s degree as well a diploma in Procurement and Logistics Management from Kyambogo University. During peruse of this course, Procurement principles and Financial Management were taught as part of the module of Business Studies. I made a publication under the topic of Tendering Techniques and Value for Money Purchase a case study on Kamwenge District Local Government and in my final year and I was awarded a Distinction. As well as the statistical learning, I studied Operational Management and also cost and management accounting. I am a Student Member of Kyambogo University Procurement and Students’ Association. (KYUPSA)
Skills:
In both of the above-mentioned work positions, I regularly dealt with accounting and procurement over years and formed part of a teams in every organization I have worked for, and also believe that, it is one way through which an organization’s Vision can be achieved. It was often necessary to discuss stock needs and areas of the workplace where additional attention was needed.
I am computer literate, using Navision, Word, Excel and Database. I am confident of being able to quickly learn how to use any other package for the benefit of an organization; as well as the above-mentioned packages; I taught myself how to use the stock control software (ABC) at Kamwenge District and am generally keen on learning how to use different IT applications.
