Highly focused and meticulous Information Management Specialist, who is passionate about Librarianship, Records and Archives Management, and Office Organization. Adept at working well independently with little or no supervision or as part of a team. Able to complete multiple high-volume tasks with complete professionalism and accuracy.
In particular, my research interests revolve around; Knowledge Organization (Classification & Cataloging), Information Literacy, Correspondence Management, Registries and Archives Procedures, Information Security, Electronic Records and Document Management systems, Museum work, Web Content Management, ICTs for Information work, Collection Development, Marketing and Customer care services, Management Studies, Project Planning and Coordination, among others.
Having obtained a bachelor`s degree in Library and Information Science, alongside my 5 years of work exposure in information work with reputable organizations like Uganda Revenue Authority, and Uganda Technology and Management University, I know just what it is to provide efficient and effective information services to an organization.
In terms of the legal framework, I am aware of the various legislations like the National Records & Archives Act 2001; Access to Information Act 2005; Data Protection Act 1998 and the Data Protection & Privacy Bill 2014, Records Management Processes and procedures, Electronic Transactions Act (2011) and ISO Standards which are all vital in executing information management work.

Records Officer at Uganda Revenue Authority
Overall Job Objective: To manage the storage and movement of Uganda Revenue Authority records in order to facilitate safety, timely and easy access to records in the organization. As a Records Officer, am specifically tasked with the keeping of official URA documents pertaining to registration and tax operations, ensuring confidentially of organizational records, keenly tracking movement of files and ensuring that no record or file leaves the registry without proper authorization, enforcing registry processes and procedures, records filling & classification, circulation, weeding and disposal, handling records transfers process, mail and courier management services, staff training and sensitization, developing guidelines for records management, etc. Key Achievements: In order to enhance mail management and courier services, I developed Service Level Agreements for courier service providers. I led a team that documented the Records and Registries procedure manual. This is a living document that guides registry officers on how several functions are performed. Successfully documented the requirements for the Document Management System (DMS) being implemented under the Enterprise Resource Planning solution. Assistant Librarian at Uganda Technology & management University
I was responsible for library collection development, reference services, circulation, maintaining the virtual library, user education and training users on how to access and use e-resources, accessioning library resources, content management, uploading content on e-learning system and updating university websites. Key Achievement: I worked hand in hand with the IT department to establish the first ever e-library developed using Dspace software. Developed a correspondence referencing system for the Directorate of Academic Affairs.
