Accounts Assistant


I am writing in reference to the job advertisement for the position of Accounts Assistant to which I would like to be considered a suitable candidate. I am a university graduate with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and currently pursuing CPA from MAT Uganda.
I am currently employed at the Joseph Initiative Limited as Accounts Assistant where I have served for a period of 3 years. As a team player in the Finance department, I am tasked with the duty of adequately providing effective, efficient and accurate financial, administrative and clerical services with activities not limited to the following:
Verifying the accuracy and approval of invoices and purchase orders before payments; Participating in budgeting and the planning processes; Participating in the preparation of audit files to facilitate both internal and external auditing; Preparing and reconciling NSSF schedules for field assistants under NSSF; Carrying out banking duties not limited to making cash deposits, cash withdraws, picking bank statements and other related tasks; Receiving cash, cheques, standing orders from clients; Receipting all cash received and provide the original receipts to the payers; Efficiently receipting all cheques that have been received on their due date and provide the original receipt to the payer; Efficiently and effectively manage and account for petty cash, keep a register of daily cash, daily cheques both current and post-dated; Stamping payment vouchers and all supporting documents as paid; Duly code financial documents and all receipts and file them in properly labeled files Issue cash according to pre-approved budgets and ensure proper accurate and timely accountability for the funds disbursed; Post transactions into QuickBooks including accounts reconciliation.
