• Provide financial/Management reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action. • Ensuring there is proper funding for each project • Development of Standard Operating Procedures for the organization as well as suggesting changes to the finance policy • Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take • Maintain the financial health of the organization(including setting up a reserve for the company) • Ensuring that all payments, Receipts and other operations of the department are done in compliancy with policies and procedures set out by the organization • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities. • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met. • Manage the preparation of the company’s budget based on activities/Programs, develop budget papers for presentation to management/Board. • Ensure correct budget and project documentation is created, and ensure relevant resource data is recorded in internal systems for reference, in line with organizational standards and procedures. • Prepare budget vs actual reports and work with program heads/Donors on where realignments need to be done • Carry out cost benefit analysis, review expenditure lines where there are overspends, then recommend action • Management of petty cash and Accountable Advance in accordance with the finance policy • Review of Logistics department log books in comparison with fuel statements from suppliers • General ledger review to ensure accuracy of the information captured • Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken. • Management of fixed assets and updating the register • Monitor, Review and Reconcile Payables, receivables, cash, bank balances to ensure there is proper reconciliation • Coordinate activities related to audits • Follow up on the resolution of audit queries • Ensure all Taxes, and other statutories are filled by 15th of every month • Tax advisory/Tax Planning for the organisation • Payroll preparation and reconciliation. • Supervise and Mentor the Accounts Team
